Become A Tax Preparer!
California requires Tax Preparers to complete a CTEC approved 60-Hour Qualifying Education Course prior to registering as a Tax Preparer. Our course is designed to meet the requirements of California Tax Education.
To Complete Registration: Fill out the online registration form and Pay the minimum deposit.

Annual Tax Preparer Renewal
California requires Registered Tax Preparers to renew as a CTEC Tax Preparer annually to legally prepare tax returns. To Renew as a California Registered Tax Preparer, you must:
- Complete a minimum of 20 hours continuing education CTEC course
- Renew IRS issued PTIN
- Maintain California $5,000 Tax Preparer Bond
- Renew CTEC registration by October 31 each year or pay a late renewal fee if renewed between November 1 - January 15
